Além do controle no estresse, do ponto de vista odontológico, o tratamento é feito com o uso de placas interoclusais flexíveis de silicone ou placas rígidas de acrílico, moldadas de acordo com a arcada dentária do paciente. Outra possibilidade é a aplicação de botox terapêutico no masseter e temporal. O procedimento neste caso é muito eficiente, já que a substância paralisa o movimento involuntário durante os períodos de vigília.
